Derek Plummer Contracts Ltd specialise in making structures more resistant to fire damage.
We have been providing this specialist service in the South West for over 40 years and offer a fully comprensive fire protection service. Click on the info below to find out more.
Intumescent coatings slow the transfer of heat to the steel. An intumescent is a substance which swells as a result of heat exposure, thus increasing in volume and decreasing in density.
We provide intumescent fire protection to structural steels using an airless spray pump. Each protection to steel work provides 30 – 180 minutes protection, dependant on loadings required to individual steel size sections.
A fire batt is a lightweight fire protective board capable of providing upto 4 hour’s fire protection and comprises of a mineral fibre board coated with elastomeric, water based sealant. This board also provides thermal, acoustic and air sealing performance.
Intubatts can be applied to the following services–
• Single and bunched cables
• Cable trays
• Cable ladders
• Trunking
• Blank openings
• Ducting/dampers
• Metallic pipes
• Plastic pipes
A fire curtain is a specially coated, woven glass fibre blanket and can provide upto 2-hours fire and smoke protection to large unsupported openings
Fire curtains can be applied to the following services –
• Single bunched cables
• Cable trays
• Cable ladders
• Trunking
• Metallic and plastic pipes
• Ducting
• Steel/timber structural sections
Fire stopping compound is designed to re-instate the fire resistance of the compartment wall or floor. This system also provides thermal, acoustic and air sealing performance
The fire compound can be applied to the following services –
• Single and bunched cables
• Cable trays
• Cable ladders
• Trunking
• Blank openings
• Ducting/dampers
• Metallic pipes
• Plastic pipes
A water based fire resistant acrylic sealant which provides protection around service penetrations giving upto 4-hours fire protection, This sealant can ensure that the acoustic performance of the substrate is maintained.
The fire acrylic sealant can be applied to the following services –
• Expansion joints in compartment walls and floors
• Sealing in and around lightweight flexible partitioning
• Gaps between timber and steel doors and window frames and the substrate
• Decorative joints sealing around service penetration, steel pipes, steel ducts, duct trays, cables and cable trays
Fire foam can provide up to 4 hours fire protection to building gaps and linear joints. The fire foam has also been designed to limit smoke movement and maintain the acoustic performance of the substrate.
Fire Foam can be applied to the following services –
• Joints in compartment walls and floors
• Sealing in and around lightweight flexible partitioning
• Gaps between frames and structures
We also provide clear fire protective coatings for timber, timber boards, MDF, melamine and veneered boards and other wood related products. Applied in accordance with Class 0 & Class 1 spread of flame.
Fire doors provide a fire resistance rating used as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire or smoke between compartments.
Fire doors can be applied to the following services –
· Internal & External
· Partitioning
